"Melissa St. Pierre’s Sonelab Sessions is a patiently unfolding parade of intricate piano excursions through restrained imagery, seasonal folly, and poetic realism. St. Pierre’s varied craft is on full display on tracks such as “A Haiku” where she takes the listener on a long train ride of imagery and movement through her attention to space in sound. Sonelab Sessions is a diverse release, with tracks moving from the subterranean (“Reliquish Worry”) to internal trips of a bodily space (“Wind Blows North Inside”). St. Pierre has released work previously on Radium/Table of the Elements, and her release is a welcome entry into the burgeoning White Reeves Productions stable. Melissa St. Pierre currently resides in Massachusetts, and as a previous resident of Pittsburgh where she performed regularly with folk, noise, and experimental artists." - Ed Steck
